This Samsung phone has got update before Google Pixel apparently

According to a report by SamMobile, the South Korean consumer electronics giant is working on rolling out the Android update for its Galaxy J3 (2017) ... The device is powered by the company's own Exynos 7570 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system.
